about.

about.

Nick Lesko lives with his wife Abby in the greater Boston area. He is a student in the Master of Design Studies program at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design, and holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Ball State University with a minor in Architectural Digital Design.

He is interested in how human experience is uniquely dictated by physiological, psychological, environmental, and situational filters. This individuality can be engaged with through sensory design in architecture to create personal and impactful experiences, and he is pursuing this as a research interest in his graduate studies. Other areas of work include computational and procedural design workflows, digital fabrication, and sculptural installations.

Curriculum Highlights

Architectural Acoustics - modeling and simulating soundscapes and designing acoustic interventions for them.

Embodied Architectures - physiological and environmental data collection and visualization, to be used for designing a responsive installation based on real time data.

Fortress of Solitude - designing, visualizing and experiencing speculative environments through video game engines such as Unreal Engine.

Proseminar in MEDIUMS - readings and discussions addressed topics including Simulation and Representation, Interaction and Cognition, Creativity and Digital Craft.

Digital Production - design workflows for physical fabrication with the use of machines, robotics, computation, and optimization.

Making Sacred Space - history of Catholic liturgy and architectural eras in church design, applying program, beauty, and wonder to a cathedral design.
